Grow your own loofah sponge! These gourds grow prolific amounts that are great for Soap crafts. When fully mature, the inside will become a dry husk with the sponge is just beneath but it does take about 3-6 months in a dry area with good ventilation to cure. In the early stages of growth, the gourd is edible when still green and under 4.5 inches in length. Natural, homegrown, and better than anything you will buy at the store.
